Seahawks overcome sloppy start, defeat Broncos 26-20 in Mike Macdonald’s debut

The Seattle Seahawks (1-0) are in the win column in Mike Macdonald’s head coaching debut.

It was an ugly game with several turnovers, sloppy penalties, and shoddy offensive line play, but the Seahawks overcame themselves and pulled off a 26-20 win over the Denver Broncos (0-1). Seattle trailed 13-9 at halftime without giving up a TD, having instead allowed two field goals and two safeties. Geno Smith had a bad interception on the opening series, but bounced back with a 34-yard touchdown run and a 30-yard touchdown pass to Zach Charbonnet. Kenneth Walker rushed for over 100 yards and a touchdown, while Tyler Lockett had a clutch game-sealing catch in the final quarter.
