The last of the Seahawks’ nine OTAs Thursday was almost as notable for who was not in attendance as for anything that happened on the field.
Among those absent were a handful of defensive stalwarts including DE Chris Clemons and Michael Bennett — who have been absent throughout — as well as Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Brandon Browner, Jeremy Lane and Tye Smith. The five DBs absent have taken part in earlier sessions and were apparently just off with excused absences — these are voluntary sessions and veterans missing one or two along the way is common (coach Pete Carroll did not meet the media afterward so there was no word on the specifics of any absences).
