The search for Russell Wilson’s new backup appears to have a frontrunner.
On Wednesday, the Seattle Seahawks officially announced that they’ve signed former New York Jets draft bust Geno Smith to a contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, although I’m sure one of the NFL insiders will have details on this in due time.
Smith spent the 2018 season with the Los Angeles Chargers, throwing all of four regular season passes, completing one for eight yards. He’s best known for being the New York Jets’ starting QB from 2013-2014, but poor play and a torn ACL in 2016 led to the end of his Jets tenure.
