Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett was unapologetic on Wednesday when asked about a hit on Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton that earned Bennett a personal foul penalty and negated a long interception return by Seattle free safety Earl Thomas.
On the the play, which happened in the final minutes of the second quarter, Thomas picked of Dalton in the Seahawks end zone then returned the ball all the way down to the Bengals' 31-yard line. But Bennett was flagged for unnecessary roughness after he blocked Dalton in the back, then repeatedly drove him to the ground as the quarterback tried to get up.
