Twice in the last three weeks Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has had to essentially bench Michael Bennett for the rest of a practice after Bennett had gotten into a fight with a teammate.
Each time, Carroll did so calmly. A few weeks ago, he simply nudged Bennett and pointed him to the sidelines after Bennett got into a brawl with offensive lineman Mark Glowinski and center Justin Britt, among others.
Sunday, Carroll walked over to a kneeling Bennett after a dust-up with Bradley Sowell and informed him he was done for the day.
Monday, Bennett said that’s just how Carroll is, and he said that calm approach is one reason he thinks Carroll is the perfect coach forthe Seahawks.
