Former Seahawks safety Kenny Easley, one of eight players in the team’s Ring of Honor, recently underwent triple bypass heart surgery.
Easley Tweeted the news himself on Monday, explaining that was why he missed his golf tournament in Redmond on July 28-29.
Easley further Tweeted that the surgery was a “Minor setback for a major comeback!”
Easley, who turned 57 on Jan. 15, played for the Seahawks from 1981-87 and was the team’s first great defensive star, being named the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year in 1984 as a strong safety. He also was named the AFC Rookie of the Year in 1981 and played in five Pro Bowls, named as a starter in 1983, 1984 and 1985.
