Seahawks honor military unit in 'change of command' ceremony

Defensive end Michael Bennett and former long snapper Nate Boyer were among the players present as the Seahawks thanked their 2015 "honored military unit" and welcomed a new unit for 2016 at CenturyLink Field on Tuesday.

Marine Security Forces Battalion – Bangor represented Seahawks fans across the world in 2015, while Navy Region Northwest was designated as the honorary unit for 2016.

Tuesday's ceremony mirrored the change of command ceremony, where an outgoing commander formally transitions responsibility and authority of a unit to a new commander. Current and former Seahawks players like Bennett and Boyer attended, as did the Sea Gals and Blitz, the Seahawks mascot.
