The Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024 is one step closer to being finalized.
On Wednesday, the 25 Modern-Era player semifinalists were reduced to 15 finalists, with up to 5 available for nomination into Canton next year. A half-dozen players are first-time finalists, with two on the cusp of joining the exclusive club of gridiron greats in their first year of eligibility.
Unfortunately, there are no Seattle Seahawks veterans on this list, but there are three “Hey, they were Seahawks that one time!” players.
TE Antonio Gates
DE Julius Peppers
KR/WR/DB Devin Hester
WR Torry Holt
WR Reggie Wayne
WR Andre Johnson
DE Jared Allen
LB Patrick Willis
RB Fred Taylor
DE Dwight Freeney
DB Darren Woodson
S Rodney Harrison
G Jahri Evans
DB Eric Allen
OL Willie Anderson
Former Seahawks running back Ricky Watters was among the semifinalists, but didn’t make it the cut.
