BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider and his wife Traci often refer to the bubble.
There was a time when their focus and energy was devoted solely to their son Ben, who was given a diagnosis of autism as a 3-year-old. They thought about how they could best help him reach his potential and considered what decisions would create the best environment for their family.
But in 2012, they decided they wanted to expand their vision. They had the financial means, and they had met other families who weren't as fortunate.
"After you’re in it for so long, you kind of want life back," Traci said.
