Seahawks DT Tony McDaniel ruled out vs. Lions with concussion

The Seahawks will be without starting defensive tackle Tony McDaniel in their wild-card matchup versus the Detroit Lions Saturday night after the 31-year-old was ruled out with a concussion.

McDaniel suffered the concussion in last week's win over the San Francisco 49ers, head coach Pete Carroll said during a press conference at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton on Thursday. The 11-year NFL veteran did not practice with the team on Wednesday.

"He's got a concussion that did not respond," Carroll said. "He didn't make it back."

McDaniel signed on for his second stint with Seattle on Aug.
