Seahawks defense comes through in wild-card win vs. Vikings

MINNEAPOLIS — When the Seahawks are playing well on defense, they play one of two ways. They either are an avalanche, swarming and destroying, and everything piles up on the offense until they are suddenly out of it. Or they control the game, play disciplined, keep everything in front of them.

And it appeared the Seahawks controlled the game and did exactly what they intended to do in Sunday’s 10-9 wild-card victory over the Vikings.

They shut down Adrian Peterson, even as the Vikings kept feeding him the ball. They rarely allowed Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to complete any passes beyond 10 yards.
