The Seattle Seahawks claimed former San Francisco defensive tackle Garrison Smith off waivers on Sunday, a day after they cut ties with 24 players and traded for two more in order to finalize their roster ahead of next week's regular-season opener.
Smith, 24, entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia in 2014, spending time with the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints before signing with the 49ers in December of his rookie season.
