Chris Clemons was one of the first departures for the Seahawks following the inaugural Super Bowl title in franchise history. Now, the 34-year-old will return to Seattle in an attempt to help them get back to their championship form.
The team announced they had agreed to terms with the unrestricted free-agent defensive end on Friday, nearly a month after he reportedly visited with the team. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though it would be a surprise if it were anything more than a short-term stopgap.
In his second stint with Seattle, Clemons will likely step in as a rotational pass rusher, perhaps to ease the loss of linebacker Bruce Irvin in free agency after Irvin signed a four-year, $37 million deal with the Oakland Raiders.
