The Seahawks have agreed to terms with free agent cornerback Byron Maxwell, a source confirmed to the Seattle Times.
It was also confirmed that the deal is for one-year worth up to $3 million with incentives. NFL.com and ESPN first reported the deal.
Maxwell, who played for the Seahawks from 2011-14, returned to the team last November following a season-ending injury to Richard Sherman and started the final six games of the season at Sherman’s left cornerback spot.’
Keeping Maxwell means Seattle now returns what was its starting cornerback trio at the end of last season — Shaquill Griffin and Maxwell as the outside cornerbacks and Justin Coleman as the nickel.
