If the Seahawks don't take an offensive lineman or defensive back with their first pick in the 2017 NFL draft, it will come as a big surprise to drafniks around the country.
It's not difficult to see why amateur and pro scouts alike are zeroing in on those position groups, which we've discussed almost ad nauseum in the run up to the draft.
The offensive line was the team's Achilles' heel in 2016, with their poor play directly contributing to the repeated injuries suffered by quarterback Russell Wilson and the team's anemic run game. General manager John Schneider added a couple of pieces in free agency, and there remains some hope that line -- which included three first-time starters last year -- will improve in 2017 without any major changes.
