The Seahawks simply brought in the wrong former Ohio State quarterback in preseason. J.T. Barrett who followed Cardale Jones at OSU was a short-term Seahawk. Barrett wasn’t really good enough to stick in Seattle. But Jones might. Jones can run the same kind of offense as Russell Wilson, though not nearly as well, of course.
On Saturday, Seattle signed Jones to the practice squad. They released offensive lineman Elijah Nkansah to make room for Jones. Nkansah was terrible in preseason and I am actually surprised he even made it to the practice squad so this is a solid move.
