The Seahawks have signed long snapper Drew Ferris to compete for the job that came open when the team last week cut veteran Clint Gresham, according to an announcement from Ferris’ agent, Kevin Gold.
Ferris played at Florida and was in training camp and was in rookie mini-camp last year with the New York Jets.
Gresham had been the team’s long snapper since 2010 before being released last week in a cost-cutting move.
Gresham, who had been with the Seahawks since 2010, has taken part in every game of the Pete Carroll era.
