The Seattle Seahawks returned to practice on Monday, and so did one of their inside linebackers.
Drake Thomas, acquired via waivers from the Las Vegas Raiders last season, passed his physical and is no longer on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.
The former NC State star suffered a serious knee injury last November, ending his rookie season after just seven games. Thomas played all but four of his 122 snaps on special teams, where he’d most likely be a key contributor should he make the 53-man roster. This is still welcome news at a position where the Seahawks don’t figure to have a lot of depth, especially with starting linebacker Jerome Baker still on the mend with an injured hamstring.
