The Seattle Seahawks reduced their roster from the 90-man offseason limit to the 53-man regular season limit on Tuesday. Now it’s time to focus on building the practice squad. Before we get into that, here’s a quick refresher of some key rules worth paying attention to:
Practice squad basic rules
- Teams can start forming their practice squads at 12:01 pm ET on Wednesday, Aug. 28. The waiver wire claims process at noon ET. The Seahawks are 16th in the waiver wire order.
- A maximum of 16 players can be signed to the practice squad, with an additional 17th player allowed through the International Pathway Program.
