The 2024 NFL Draft rolls on in the Motor City!
Round 1 was defined by a whopping 23 offensive players (and six quarterbacks) getting drafted. The Seattle Seahawks were in the minority as far as drafting defense, taking Texas defensive tackle Byron Murphy II. They reportedly made an effort to trade up for Michael Penix Jr, but the Atlanta Falcons stayed at No. 8 and surprised everyone by making him their successor to Kirk Cousins.
It’s shaping up to be a decidedly quiet Friday for the Seahawks. With no second-round pick due to the Leonard Williams trade, Seattle’s only Day 2 pick is the third-rounder acquired in last year’s trade with the Denver Broncos.
