The Seattle Seahawks added a 2020 fifth round pick on Tuesday by trading tight end Nick Vannett to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The deal helps them retain some of the draft capital they gave up to acquire Jadeveon Clowney three weeks ago when they sent a third round pick and two players to the Houston Texans for his services.
Overall, the Seahawks now have some of the most firepower in the draft next year due to trades and compensatory picks from 2019 free agency.
Seattle Seahawks expected 2020 picks:
1st round
2nd round
2nd round (lower of two picks between KC Chiefs and SF 49ers)
3rd round (compensatory for losing Earl Thomas)
4th round
5th round
5th round (from Steelers)
6th round (compensatory for losing Shamar Stephen)
7th round (compensatory for losing Mike Davis)
The Seahawks don’t have their original sixth round pick because they traded back into the seventh round for John Ursua this year, while they sent their seventh round pick to the New England Patriots for tight end Jacob Hollister.
