On the same night that one of Russell Wilson’s most beloved teammates retire — Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch — so too did one of his heroes play his final game, Denver QB Peyton Manning.
Wilson penned a letter for The Players’ Tribune thanking Manning for being an inspiration, specifically citing his experience at one of Manning’s camps.
Wilson wrote:
“There’s one moment I won’t forget.
10th grade. Louisiana. At your quarterback camp.
You inspired the kid in the green shirt.
You inspired me to work hard. To be disciplined. To be respectful.
