Wilson used multiple examples from his days at NC State, including a conversation he'd had with football coach Tom O'Brien in which O'Brien told him his days as the team's starting quarterback were over.
"The summer before my senior year of college, I’m playing minor-league baseball," Wilson said. "I called my football coach at NC State and said, ‘Hey coach, I’d like to come back for my senior year.’ He told me I wasn’t coming back.
