Interactions between Marshawn Lynch and local media were scarce during his time with the Seattle Seahawks.
When reporters would approach Lynch at his locker at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center, he made sure his music, often featuring a rap artist from his hometown of Oakland, Calif., was blasting from speakers. When he gave answers, they were short, and sometimes they didn't address the question. During the 2015-16 season, he avoided the media altogether, sans one quote from a Seattle Times column.
When Lynch announced his retirement during Super Bowl 50 fittingly by posting a photo of dangling sneakers with the "peace" symbol as a caption, it reminded of the unique way he handled questions during the rare times the NFL actually forced him to speak by fining him.
