I have mentioned multiple times that Brian Schottenheimer’s career arc reminds me of Kyle Shanahan’s. Some readers may have forgotten that Shanahan’s first season with Matt Ryan was plenty underwhelming, and he wasn’t much less of a “legacy” joke than he had been during his previous stops as an offensive coordinator. In his second year with Ryan, he won MVP and the Atlanta Falcons earned the right to blow the Super Bowl.
