Roger Goodell’s international expansion plan makes more Seahawks overseas games inevitable

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell recently voiced his goal of bringing more NFL games outside of the United States.

“We feel like this game is destined to be global,” Goodell said on Good Morning Football (via NFL.com). “We expect to be in Asia soon. We expect to be in Australia soon.”

The Seattle Seahawks have not played an international game since facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10 of the 2022 season, a 21-16 loss at Munich’s Allianz Arena. In addition, Seattle has never been the designated home team in an international contest, serving as the visitors across both of the team’s two contests abroad: the 2022 Germany game against the Buccaneers, and a London game versus the Oakland Raiders at Wembley Stadium in 2018, which ended in a 27-3 Seahawks victory.
