Richard Sherman will honor a promise he made one year ago and fund a Virginia high school student's college scholarship.
The Seahawks cornerback made the verbal agreement with Varina High School student Hershai James during charity event hosted by former Seattle teammate Michael Robinson, founder of the Excel to Excellence Foundation.
Sherman was serving as a celebrity waiter at the foundation's banquet in Richmond, Virginia when he met James, who informed the three-time All-Pro -- whom she didn't know of prior to the event -- she had a 3.
