Former Seahawks backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson will plead not guilty to felony assault charges in Florida, according to a report from NFL Media.
Jackson's attorney filed his not guilty plea with the Osceola County Clerk of the Court on Tuesday, according to NFL Media. If convicted of assault with a deadly weapon, Jackson could face up to five years in jail.
Jackson, 33, was arrested in Kissimmee, Florida, on June 24 after a woman widely reported to be his wife told police he pointed a gun at her and threatened to kill her.
After Jackson left couple's residence at the Regal Oaks Resort on June 23, the woman told police he returned to the rental unit apparently under the influence of alcohol.
