The Seattle Seahawks added some veteran depth to their running backs group, reportedly agreeing to a one-year contract with former Buffalo Bills player Fred Jackson.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the news on Friday. The Seahawks have not yet responded to a seattlepi.com request for confirmation.
The 34-year-old Jackson visited Seattle Tuesday after being released by the Bills in their initial round of cuts on Monday. An eight-year veteran out of Coe College, the 6-foot-1, 215-pound undrafted free agent led Buffalo in rushing in four out of the last six seasons after serving as a backup to Marshawn Lynch early in his career and has remained a close friend of “Beast Mode.
