Ahead of the 2018 season, veteran Sebastian Janikowski beat out Jason Myers in the competition to replace Blair Walsh as the Seattle Seahawks’ kicker. Janikowski was much maligned throughout the 2018 season, struggling with accuracy and eventually, injuries.
Meanwhile Myers landed in New York and had a great season with the Jets, being named to the Pro Bowl after going 33/36 on field goals—including 6/7 from 50 and beyond—and 30/33 on extra points in 2018.
