Report: Seahawks to hire Brian Schottenheimer as offensive coordinator

The Seahawks are expected to hire Brian Schottenheimer as their new offensive coordinator to replace the fired Darrell Bevell, according to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The Seahawks have not confirmed the hiring. But there had been indications that Schottenheimer — who spent the last two seasons as the quarterbacks coach of the Indianapolis Colts —- was emerging as the leading candidate as the team looks to revamp its offense following the firings earlier this week of Bevell and offensive line coach Tom Cable.

Schottenheimer is the son of longtime NFL head coach Marty Schottenheimer.
