Former Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, but not without a push from the Seattle Seahawks.
ESPN’s Jenna Laine reported that both the Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers sought to bring Bernard on board before he ultimately signed with the Super Bowl champions.
Giovani Bernard was also recruited by the 49ers and Seahawks, per a source close to the situation. Not only did Tom Brady and Bruce Arians call him — he heard from Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson too.
