The much-maligned free safety has reportedly been given permission to seek a trade.
Thompson ended what was a brutal 2019 season on injured reserve with a lingering shoulder problem. He was the replacement for Earl Thomas after Earl’s leg break in 2018 and kept his starting job through this past season, often showing himself to be a complete liability on the field.
