Report: Seahawks firing strength and conditioning coach Chris Carlisle

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll had said earlier in the week that he didn’t anticipate any major changes to the coaching staff, but that doesn’t mean that there wouldn’t be any changes, and it looks as if the offseason shake-up has begun.

According to ESPN’s Brady Henderson, the team is going to fire Chris Carlisle, the longtime strength and conditioning coach who had been with Carroll dating back to their days at USC. This ends a run of 18 consecutive years of Carroll and Carlisle on the same coaching staff.

With Carlisle on his way out, these are the only coaches from the 2010 team who are still with the Seahawks as of January 9th, 2019:

Dave Canales (quarterbacks coach)

Pat McPherson (tight ends coach)

Pat Ruel (assistant offensive line coach)

Brian Schneider (special teams coach)

Carl Smith (associate head coach)

Mondray Gee (assistant strength and conditioning coach)

Jamie Yanchar (assistant strength and conditioning coach)
