The Sheriff is back in town.
According to ESPN’s Brady Henderson, the Seattle Seahawks are signing outside linebacker Jamie Sheriff to the practice squad. Sheriff was let go by the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday and cleared waivers, making him a free agent.
Seattle signed Sheriff as an undrafted rookie out of South Alabama. In three preseason games, Sheriff impressed with his pass rushing prowess, recording three sacks and five quarterback hits. Despite his solid play, the Seahawks waived him on cutdown day, and the Panthers claimed him for their active roster.
