Report: Former Seahawks LT Matt Tobin finds a new home

Friday afternoon saw the Seattle Seahawks lose free agent defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson to the Minnesota Vikings, and on Friday evening reports emerged that the New England Patriots had agreed to terms on a one year deal with offensive lineman Matt Tobin.

Tobin was acquired by the Seahawks in August after the presumed starter at left tackle, George Fant, was lost for the season with a shredded knee. He played sparingly, acting mostly as an extra offensive lineman or tight end. He played 32 snaps on the offensive line for Seattle over the course of the season, with 30 of those coming in the devastating win at Arizona in which Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman, Duane Brown and others all suffered injuries.
