RENTON, Wash. -- The Seattle Seahawks picked earlier than expected Saturday, moving up to No. 147 (fourth round) in a trade with the Patriots.
The Seahawks also get the No. 243 pick (seventh round). They give up a 2017 fourth-round selection and No. 225 (seventh round) this year.
The target: Maryland defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson.
My take: The Seahawks needed to add some interior pass rush, and Jefferson (6-foot-4, 291 pounds) can bring that. He is a disruptive, penetrating defensive tackle who had 6.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss for the Terps last season after tearing his ACL the previous year.
