Quarterback Matthew Hasselbeck announced his retirement on Wednesday and will join ESPN as an NFL analyst.
Hasselbeck will be part of ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown this fall.
Hasselbeck, 40, was one the NFL's best stories last season with the Colts. He kept the Colts in the AFC South race by winning his first four starts in place of the injured Andrew Luck.
But then Hasselbeck's body started breaking down on him. Starting with the Week 13 game at Pittsburgh, Hasselbeck momentarily left three straight games with injuries.
His season ended for good when he sustained a right shoulder injury against the Miami Dolphins in Week 16.
