RENTON, Wash. -- The Seattle Seahawks' starters are expected to play extensively Saturday night in the team's third preseason game, even if there is an inherent danger in doing so.

Coach Pete Carroll said as much on Thursday when asked if some of the recent injuries around the NFL have caused him to reconsider how much work he'll give the first units in games that ultimately don't count in the standings.
