SEATTLE -- Angela Duckworth's book, Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance, was fifth last week in the nonfiction category of The New York Times best-sellers.
On Thursday night, she sat in an orange chair next to Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll for a town hall discussion at Seattle University about her ideas and his philosophies.
Duckworth's book has a chapter titled "A Culture of Grit" that focuses partly on her visit with Carroll last May. Carroll initially got in touch with Duckworth after seeing her TED talk online, and the two have been friends ever since.
