The Seattle Seahawks will have an interesting surprise in store for them during Sunday’s contest against the New England Patriots.
In the Patriots’ second annual Keeper of the Light pre-game ceremony, the team will send out cornerback Malcolm Butler to perform the ceremonial duties as part of the 10-year anniversary celebration of Super Bowl XLIX.
Butler, of course, broke the hearts of Seahawks fans everywhere when he intercepted Russell Wilson’s goal line pass to end Seattle’s hopes of winning a second consecutive Super Bowl.
“It’s an honor to come back and celebrate with my teammates and the fans who have supported us throughout the years,” said the former New England cornerback (via Patriots.
