Patriots Have “Some Interest” In Richard Sherman, But More Interest From Other Teams

Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports that the Patriots have “some interest” in Seahawks CB Richard Sherman, but it’s unlikely they would pursue a trade for him unless they lose restricted free agent Malcolm Butler.

  • However, Howe adds that Seattle has received greater interest from teams other than Patriots up to this point.
  • According to Howe, Sherman would be amenable to a trade to the Patriots if the two teams ever agreed to a deal.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media previously reported that the Patriots were one of a few teams to inquire about a potential trade for Sherman before the signed Stephon Gilmore to a big-money contract at the start of free agency, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.
