RENTON -- The Seahawks practiced at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center on a cool, gusty Tuesday that made it feel like the regular season must be right around the corner.
It is.
With the regular-season opener versus the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 11 rapidly approaching, Seattle trimmed 15 players from its 90 man roster to get to 75 players by the NFL's 1 p.m. Pacific deadline.
Center Patrick Lewis was the highest-profile player among the team's initial cuts.
Lewis, 25, started nine games for the team in 2015 after initially losing the starting job to Drew Nowak in training camp.
