With the 149th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks have selected punter Michael Dickson out of Texas.
Taking a punter in round five is a sign that Jon Ryan’s long tenure in Seattle is nearing its end. Ryan is one of the more expensive punters in the NFL and Dickson is the first punter off the board in 2018.
Dickson’s specialty is a bent-legged kick where he doesn’t raise his leg all the way up like other punters. The casual-looking boot is something Dickson learned while playing Australian Rules Football for 10 years.
