RENTON — The last time new Seahawks offensive lineman Jahri Evans played a position other than right guard he was in college at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. That was a decade ago.
But during his first practice since signing with the Seahawks on Saturday, Evans played left guard, the position held by Mark Glowinski right now.
“It’s really new to me,” Evans said. “But that’s all I’ve been doing since I’ve been here.”
Evans, who turns 33 later this month, hasn’t been promised a starting job. Coach Pete Carroll said Evans will compete at both guard positions, but the team wanted to get a first look at him at left guard.
