Mike Macdonald ‘optimistic’ that Seahawks rookie Byron Murphy II will play vs. Falcons

The Seattle Seahawks defensive line has dealt with several injuries during their three-game losing streak, but a major reinforcement appears to be on his way.

Rookie defensive lineman Byron Murphy II has missed every loss since injuring his hamstring against the Miami Dolphins back in Week 3. When asked about how hopeful he was that Murphy would play next week, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald gave a positive outlook on his impending return.

“I’m hoping, yeah,” Macdonald said at Friday’s press conference. “I don’t have a timetable for you, but I’d be optimistic this week I think.
