Michael Bennett, Seahawks happy to get new deal done

RENTON -- Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett made his feeling about being underpaid well known, but he played hard and he played hurt and he played well, and after nearly two years, he got the new deal he'd been asking for.

Bennett signed a three-year contract extension worth a reported $31.5 million with $17.5 million in guarantees on Friday, and while NFL contract numbers are notoriously over-inflated by agents who want to make it look like they got their clients the absolute maximum, Bennett's extension is certainly an upgrade from the four-year, $28.5 million contract he signed with Seattle during the 2014 offseason.
