Matt Tobin immediately thrown in Seahawks LT battle

RENTON -- Hopefully Matt Tobin is a quick learner.

There's not much time between now and Friday's preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs, when the recently-acquired offensive lineman will likely be asked to play on the Seahawks front line.

Tobin, 27, was traded to the Seahawks -- along with a 2018 seventh-round pick -- on Monday from the Eagles in exchange for Seattle's 2018 fifth-round pick. The fifth-year pro arrived at his hotel 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, had an early wake-up call to undergo a physical, then quickly joined his new teammates at practice.

"I got done with physicals and ran onto the field for warmup," Tobin said after his first Seahawks practice at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center.
