With another NFL season all but in the books and free agency less than two months away, It’s time for the Seattle Seahawks to play hardball with Jeremy Lane following his recent arrest for DUI. Lane played well enough during his first few years in the league, and combining his play with the hot free agent cornerback market let to Lane being rewarded for his performance with a four year, $23M deal.
However, since Lane signed his deal two years ago, the cornerback market has cooled and Lane’s on-field performance has been less than what would be desired, particularly for a player with a cap hit of $7.
