Kam Chancellor Will Not Play in Week 1 as Seahawks Safety Continues Holdout

As Kam Chancellor's contract holdout continues, the Seattle Seahawks are preparing to start the season without their star safety.

According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, Chancellor was not at the team's Wednesday practice and is "expected" to miss Sunday's game against St. Louis.

ESPN's Ed Werder, citing a Seahawks' source, reported on September 8 that the team was preparing for things as if Chancellor would not be playing at all this season.

Per Rapoport, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll was very matter-of-fact about the situation with Chancellor for Week 1:
